Flight to the Moon

Another original ride taken from Disneyland. Upon entering the building or pre-show, guests would see Mission Control preparing for a space launch.

Moving on to the spacecraft, they would be seated as a theater-in-the-round, with movie screens on the center of the floor and ceiling. These were with windows to view the progress of your craft through space, as well as a means of communications with Mission Control.

The ride was renamed in 1975, since we had conquered the moon and were looking further out into space. Ultimately, closing permanently in 1993 to make way for the short-lived ExtreTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, which was part of the new Tomorrowland plans under then CEO Michael Eisner.
