High School Musical has become more than anyone at the Disney Studios could ever have imagined. From that first day they released it for free on Apple’s iTunes, there was a sudden surge of interest and excitement from kids all over for HSM.
I remember the day it was released on iTunes; I almost downloaded for my daughter and by the time I had decided to, it had been removed from the servers. There were probably a bunch of folks around Disney’s Burbank offices realizing they had something special on their hands. From that moment on they have extended the story through 2 sequels. The most recent, HSM 3: Senior Year opened to big numbers and they have brought some of that magic to the parks.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can see a rousing 20 minute performance based on the musical. The high-energy show is a hit with all of the kids at the performance, and I am sure you will see some of the parents dancing to the music as well. If you are a fan of the HSM movies, this show is a must see.
