Variety is reporting that Clete Smith has sold his soon-to-be-published novel, Grandma’s Intergalactic Bed & Breakfast, to Disney for development to become a family feature.

The Story

The book revolves around a young boy who visits his eccentric grandmother’s bed and breakfast only to discover she caters to an out-of-this-world clientele; vacationing aliens.

The Author

Clete Smith, who has an MFA from Vermont College and has won a handful of screenwriting contests. According to those who have knowledge of the book, at Publisher’s Weekly, state it is that it has the kind of high-concept potential Hollywood targets. David Hoberman (Beverly Hills Chihuahua; Traitor) is attached as a producer.
