There are so many traditions we have as we celebrate Christmas that come from Germany. From the Christmas tree and advent calendars to Christmas cookies and the type of decorations we use throughout our celebrations, much comes from Germany.

Much of what we take for granted as we decorate for the holidays has been handed down to us over time from the German culture. Many of the symbols we hold dear and traditions we celebrate dring the Christmas holiday season are a result of the German influence on our American experience. Helga is our storyteller from Germany who lets us in on these secrets, and more, as she talks about Christmas in Germany.
