Although ticket prices have been increasing there are still so many things going on at the parks at The Walt Disney World Resort, it is still a value – especially if you are a frequent visitor and choose your tickets wisely.

Choices, choices, choices

Being a Florida resident and living about 5 miles from the Magic Kingdom we are a bit spoiled by all the magic with our annual passes, but we are constantly asked what is the best ticket to buy when we visit. Our answer usually depends on a few things: length of stay, frequency of return visits within the same year, budget, etc.

If this is the first visit to the parks and you won’t be returning anytime soon consider:

  • how long you are staying
  • where you are staying
  • does the resort bundle tickets with my package
  • what is my budget

How to make your decision

The Walt Disney World Resort has numerous packages and plans and many focus on the guest at their resorts. The longer you stay the more cost effective it is to bundle your ticket into the resort package. It is usually a great deal for your vacation unless you are planning to come back to the area again within the next year.

If you do make more than a few triips to Central Florida and always make time to visit the parks you might be better off with the Annual Pass. The cost savings really depend upon your situation, but more oftent than not, frequent visitors to the area will save more money when they buy the annual pass. Some of our family has gone this route since they come down for the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, The Epcot Food and Wine Festival and other family events throughout the year.

A little secret, if you are a Florida resident you can save even more. We have friends and relatives who live in other parts of the state who have purchased the tickets so they can spend the day in the parks with us on their frequent trips into town.

The real deal

The Disney site has a lot of this information readily available for you to review, but some of it is a bit hard to find in a site as large, entertaining and somewhat overwhelming as disney.com can be. I have compiled as much of the ticket information I could find here for you to review. Hope it helps when you plan your next visit to The Walt Disney World Resort.
