The first week of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, sponsored by DisneyNature, wraps up this weekend with a host of opening weekend events for kids of all ages.
Great American Gardeners
Take a look at the space you have, determine how to use it and start giving definition to that space. You can use it to entertain or just escape from the day-to-day pressures.
Jon Carloftis – Award Winning Landscape Designer
Born in Kentucky and now living in Bucks County, PA, much of his work is still done in New York City, where the lack of backyard space has led him to specialize in rooftop gardens, balconies and courtyards. That focus eventually made him an expert on container gardening, including trademark granny pots where numerous plants spill over each other in colorful and competitive abundance.
Jon is a successful speaker and author whose website offers some of his products for sale.
Meet the director and producer of Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure on Saturday, March 21 from 10:30 am and then again at 1:00 pm in the Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden. The Pixie Hollow Fairie Garden is located just next to Minnie’s Magnificent Butterfly Garden and is a wonderful new space this year to celebrate our favorite pixie and her friends.
Flower Power Concert Series
Every weekend throughout the Festival in the American Gardens Theater, this successful concert series returns with lots of favorite performers to celebrate the day. First in the agenda is the one and only Davy Jones.
Maintaining his allure as a sexy icon through generations of fans, Davy Jones first invaded teen hearts as the international idol of millions in the 1960s Emmy Award winning television classic The Monkees. Since the show hit the small screen, Davy has triumphed as both a serious actor and a comedian on the theatrical stage; as a rock musician, composer and artist; and, true to his first love, as an extremely able horseman.
