We had a great time the other night celebrating a birthday at Cinderella’s Royal Table. It had been quite some time since we had eaten in the castle and we saved up for such a special occasion – our little one’s six-year-old birthday. Over the past year we had tried several times to get reservations for dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table, but it is one hard restaurant to get into.

We arrived early to have some fun and enjoy wonderful autumn weather here in Central Florida; but it appeared everyone else did as well since the wait times for all the rides in Fantasyland were over an hour. The line at the Carousel was short, so we hopped on for a ride to determine our plan of action. We settled on grabbing a FASTPASS for Peter Pan’s Flight and then headed over to Pooh Bear’s for the only ride we had time for before dinner.

We checked in for the dinner seating, anxious to see how the evening would progress. After waiting, briefly, we were lead into the castle and queued up for a meet and greet with none other than Cinderella herself, and a few of her little friends were hanging around watching all of the fun.

After our photo, we made our way up the curving stairwell to the restaurant. The dining area is expansive and open with several windows that offer a wonderful of Fantasyland; since it is the second story. Our table happened to be right by one of these windows and it afforded us a decent view of the construction of the New Fantasyland as well.

The menu (see complete menu below) is a fixed priced menu. Our last experience dining here was not too stellar, so I was not expecting much; our food was brown and covered in gravy and the princesses really did not pay attention to our little girls. Much to my pleasant surprise, however, the food has gotten a major upgrade. We ordered a couple of different appetizers: a royal tasting of cheese, roasted beet salad and the castle salad. All we very well done with attention to detail that really surprised us.

For the entrees, we all ordered the same thing, Friars Stuffed Chicken Breast. It is a delicately stuffed breast with asparagus, mozzerella and prosciutto smothered in leeks, artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes. The other dishes we saw at the surrounding tables looked equally appetizing as well.

For dessert we ordered the Chef’s Trio, consisting of: chocolate mousse, cheesecake and a pumpkin pie. Each was very flavorful and presented together on a single plate.

For our guest of honor, however, they brought out a cupcake with all the fixins’ for her to maker her own special delicacy.

Wrapping it Up

Overall, the dining experience was wonderful. Throughout the meal, a cavalcade of princesses joined the party and spent time at each table. Our table was one of the first stops on their tour and each made our little girl feel like a princess. It was a great meal and experience for the family, but it certainly is not cheap. The price is fairly expensive, especially when you consider the offerings for the littlest diners is the same pizza, chicken fingers offered in the park for a fraction of the price charged at Cinderella’s Royal Table. Despite that, saving a dining experience like this for those special days certainly made it worth while in our eyes and even our older daughter enjoyed the experience.
