We attended the media day for the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival yesterday, and did we get wet! Normally, it does not spend the whole day raining here in Central Florida, but yesterday was apparently and exception.
Despite that, we tried to have a good time wandering around the park. The one thing the rain did, however, was really make the colors pop. All over the park, despite the dreary weather, the vivid colors of the flowers seemed much more vibrant and provided some brightness to an otherwise dull day.
With the rain coming down hard at times, it was difficult to really capture many photos, so I concentrated on a couple of little items; the pixie houses in the Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden.
The Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden is not new to the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, but it has been reimagined this year. The space seems a bit more open than in years past which is helpful since this attraction always seems to be packed full of families looking for Tinker Bell and her friends.
There are a wide variety of these houses interspersed among Pixie Hollow, so be sure not to miss any of them; although I am sure I missed a couple due to the weather. They are a great feature to the area and attract a lot of attention from all the guests and even include a boat or two as well.
Wrapping It Up

Disclaimer: I was invited guest to the media day for this years Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. As such, Disney provided me with a parking pass, two park hopper tickets and a seed packet of Fairy Dust White Impatiens. I am under no obligations to the Walt Disney Co. from this media event and write about the experiences so our guests on etckt.com can learn more about the many destination vacation opportunities available from Disney’s Parks and Resorts.
